Ken Henderson has been working as a professional artist since he was 13. In 1990, he graduated with my BFA in Drawing & Painting from UVIC. After a few years as an illustrator in Victoria, he moved to Vancouver to take a 3D animation course at Vancouver Film School (VFS). That course set him up for a career in TV/Film/Games. He spent decades working on projects in concept design and art director roles for animated TV series like ‘ReBoot’, ‘Beast Wars’, ‘Beast Machines’, ‘Bob the Builder’, and ‘Beat Bugs.’ He also worked on video games like ‘Republic Commando’, ‘Star Wars EP III’, ‘FIFA’ and films like ‘Ratchet & Clank’, ‘Thirst’ and the ‘Sly Cooper’ teaser trailer. This led him back to his alma mater. At VFS, he became a mentor/instructor and eventually became the Senior Instructor for their concept art program in 2019. From there, he joined a concept art outsource team as the studio art manager. The last few years have seen him move back into his own art practice, with sculpture as his main creative outlet.
