Corrina Hammond is an artist specializing in hand weaving on traditional floor looms. Earning her BFA at ECUAD, Hammond then honed her weaving expertise, more recently establishing Domestic Intervention Company, where she designs handwoven textiles and hosts weaving workshops. Hammond actively engages with community by participating in fundraising events for public art institutions, open studio events for the public and hand weaving demonstrations. Between workshops and teaching engagements Hammond creates textile-based collages, soft sculpture works, garments and textiles for domestic use. Hammond’s involvement in Vancouver’s art scene includes group and solo exhibits and founding a punk rock trio - MAOW. Her visual art and music have garnered media attention, press support, and coverage in various publications such as CBC radio, Global television and print media.
