Katie So is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC. Drawing on their acute sensitivity to sensory stimuli, Katie captures the essence of fleeting moments. Their work serves as a reflection on the subtleties of daily life, depicting snapshots of sensory impressions and the nuanced emotions tied to memories. Katie developed a distinct brush and ink style through the DIY comics scene, and self published a series of auto-biographical comic collections. From there, Katie took this illustrative experience and applied it to contemporary tattooing. After ten years as a tattooer, Katie has shifted focus towards painting, though the use of ink continues to be a consistent through line. Katie has showcased work in North America and Europe, and continues to diversify their studio practice by attending local and international artist residencies.
