Melding references to St. Sebastian and one of the more notorious cards in the Minor Arcana, Point of Disgust (Ten of Swords) is a closet painting. A closely cropped cobalt blue torso models said swords and a handful of hilts, each jutting out in their own angles, like a mannequin savaged during a rigorous fencing practice. Dramatic, indulgent, and slightly humorous, this painting attempts to capture the pure pessimism and self-destruction of closeted existence, as well as its ultimate futility—as any card reader will tell you, rock bottom means there is only one way up.
