She is known for large-scale works made from hand-twisted newspaper—familiar materials transformed through a slow, repetitive, and deeply physical process. Her practice explores cycles of use, time, and renewal, engaging questions of sustainability, identity, and personal narrative, often grounded in the tension between what is discarded and what is preserved. Pinaceae Panacea is a series of works made from laminated, recycled newspaper, compressed into dense, tree-like forms that gesture back to their source. The process reworks newsprint into something slower and more tactile, bringing together cycles of material, information, and use, while returning the medium, in part, to the tree it once was. Born and raised in Vancouver, Connie graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 2003, receiving the Governor General’s Academic Medal. She holds a Bachelor of Home Economics from the University of British Columbia, where she also studied architecture, and later pursued public art studies at the University of Washington. Her work has been exhibited across the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast and the United States.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Connie Sabo","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47348134412437,"sku":null,"price":148.34,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0454\/1956\/1109\/files\/panacea-2_1.jpg?v=1778597752","url":"https:\/\/thethisgallery.com\/en-us\/products\/pinaceae-panacea-2-copy","provider":"THIS GALLERY","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
