Diverse visual stimuli is something I need to absorb frequently. I’ll go for walks or spend time outdoors so I can interact with my environment in hyper detail, finding pockets of shapes and colour, patterns and textures. Interacting with visuals like this is a kind of nourishment and is vital to my ability to focus.

This series represents this sensory seeking behaviour. The subject matter stays within a floral and botanical realm, incorporating abstract forms and kinetic mark making. The monochromatic palette mimics my visual sensitivity to light. These paintings act as a sensory soothing exercise when I create them, and also attempt to convey how I see and experience my visual world.
